01Why this one

The collar does the work, the sleeves do the rest

A short-sleeved polo is a summer garment. Put the same collar on a long sleeve and it stops being seasonal: it goes under a jacket in November, it stands on its own in April, and it is the one thing in the wardrobe that reads as a shirt without ever asking to be ironed.

The polo shirt in black, shown flat

That is the whole argument for owning this shape. You get the finish of a shirt and the ease of a knit, in a garment you can pull on in ten seconds and still walk into anything.

Nobody compliments a polo. They register that you look like someone who put something on deliberately, and they credit the morning rather than the garment. That is exactly the right way round.

02The make

Where a polo is actually decided

Two places, and both are here. The placket is hidden — the buttons sit under a fold of cloth instead of on top of it, which is why the front falls as one clean line whether it is open or closed. And the collar is ribbed and knitted as its own piece rather than cut from the body cloth, which is the single thing that decides whether it still stands after a year or curls over on itself after a month.

The cloth is a petit pique — a textured weave rather than a flat jersey, which is what stops a polo from reading as a t-shirt with a collar stitched on. Six per cent elastane runs through it, so it gives when you reach and comes back when you stop. The cuffs are ribbed on the same principle as the collar: knitted tighter so they hold at the wrist instead of widening into the sleeve.

03Six colours

One cut, six ways to wear it

The cut, the cloth and the collar are identical in all six. The colour decides the job. Black and midnight blue disappear under a jacket and behave with everything you already own. White is the one that makes a pair of jeans look considered. Green, blue and pink are the ones people actually remember you in — and they are the ones that empty first.

04The value

Why this costs what it costs

A polo is mostly labour, and almost all of it is in the parts you stop noticing after a week. A knitted collar is a separate operation from the body. A hidden placket is three more. Ribbed cuffs are another. Every one of those is a step a factory can delete to bring a price down, and every one of them is the reason a cheap polo looks cheap by the twentieth wash — slack collar, curling placket, cuffs that have gone wide.

The polo shirt in green, shown flat

None of those steps were deleted here. What was removed is the part that has nothing to do with the garment: the rail, the shop floor, the distributor taking a cut on the way. We sell direct, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a polo made like this is simply not in the price. You are paying for the shirt.

  • Sold direct — no retail margin stacked on the price
  • Knitted collar and ribbed cuffs, not cut from body cloth
  • Stretch woven in, so it keeps its shape rather than relying on the cut

06Questions

How does it fit?

Regular and straight, so it follows the body without gripping it. Take your usual size. If you are between two and want it closer, take the smaller — the elastane gives you the room back.

Can I wear it tucked in?

Either way. The straight cut and the hidden placket mean it falls clean left out, and it tucks without bunching at the waist.

Will the collar stay standing?

That is what the rib is for. The collar is knitted as its own piece and set on, which is what lets it recover its shape instead of relaxing flat.

How do I wash it?

Cool, inside out, and dry it flat rather than on a hanger — that is what keeps the shoulders and the collar where they should be.

Is it a good gift?

An easy one. The sizing is forgiving, the shape suits almost everybody, and there are six colours to pick from.

What if it is not right for me?

Returns are free and global. Send it back unworn and we will exchange it or refund you.

How quickly does it ship?

It is held in stock here. Processing and order verification typically take 1 to 3 business days before dispatch.

Limited stock

Six colours across five sizes is thirty things to keep filled

They never empty evenly. It is always one colour in one size that disappears first, and in a polo it is always the middle sizes — the ones most people need. Once a combination is gone, the next run is weeks away, and the colour does not always come back with it.
