How should I size it?
Your usual size. A vest is meant to sit close enough not to flap and loose enough to go over a knit.

Between seasons, and over a knit in the cold. It is the layer that keeps your core warm while your arms stay free, which is most of autumn.

Wash cool and let it dry fully before it goes away for the summer. Anything padded needs to be dry all the way through, not nearly.
